Byline Bank champions social-impact startups at DePaul University
For the fifth consecutive year, Byline Bank was proud to sponsor the Coleman Entrepreneurship Center’s Social Impact Incubator at DePaul University, helping entrepreneurs create and scale ventures with a strong social-impact mission.
The program brings together 15 Chicago-area founders for an intensive eight-week boot camp where they develop their business strategy, receive customized instruction, and build connections with peers and the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem. Participants are paired with experienced mentors and receive a $1,000 stipend to help advance their businesses after completing the program.
Since the program launched in 2022, more than 75 founders have participated, gaining support to advance purpose-driven businesses. Stephen Ball, Head of Business Banking at Byline, serves as a panelist and mentor in the program.
“Participants are navigating challenges that every owner faces, from refining their business’ strategy to funding its growth,” Ball says. “It’s gratifying to be able to share practical guidance and resources with entrepreneurs who want to make a positive impact in the world.”
Supporting small business development is central to Byline’s commitment to strengthening our local communities. The Social Impact Incubator helps founders build businesses that address social and economic challenges in Chicago and beyond. To date, Byline has contributed $75,000 to the program.
