How To Edit Your Site
Questions about your site?
Here are the topics in the CMS support library that are specific to your CMS:
CMS Trainings
These are the CSS classes that sometimes get edited/deleted on accident. That’s okay. Mistakes happen and that is why we have this Q&A.
Buttons in the top level navigation
- If the button style accidentally gets deleted or is not appearing, here is where you edit that to get it back:
- Appearance > Menus > Select the Main Nav (Header) > Expand Open an Account > ensure the class “menu_button” appears in the CSS class field
- Appearance > Menus > Select the Secondary Nav > Expand Logins > ensure the class “menu_button” appears in the CSS class field
All other classes used on this website are automatically saved to your page block templates so you won’t need to worry about them.
- All sections (i.e., rows, page blocks, layouts) shown in your designs and examples found in the Page Blocks page
- Use these block pages as reference guides when building brand new pages or editing existing pages.
- These page blocks are saved in WordPress as page block templates so you can easily load them when you are on a page and editing.
- Watch your CMS training recording for more information on how to manage your content with page blocks.
Can more block options and styles be added?
Sure! This requires more design and development time. Talk with your PM to determine what makes the most sense for your project timeline and budget.
NOTE: If this is a post-launch request, submit a support request with all the details on your block needs.
This is applicable to the following post types:
- Locations
- Case Studies
- Blog/Insights
- Team
The blocks on each post-type landing page are maintained in the Pages section of WordPress. Navigate to Pages in WordPress and search for the post type you want to edit. They’re labeled:
- Locations Content do not delete
- Case Studies Content do not delete
- Blog Content do not delete
- Team Content do not delete
Click the page and then edit/modify blocks as needed and click SAVE.
DO NOT PUBLISH THESE PAGES. They must be set to Private so they are not found/indexed by search engines and will not display the correct content on the page if they accidentally get published.
If these blocks are not appearing on the landing pages for some reason, navigate to the post type > settings > and ensure the matching Page is selected in the “Page for Content” field.

When adding a tablepress shortcode to a page always include this parameter – cache_table_output=false. So a typical shortcode for adding a table would look like

While you’re editing a page in WP, scroll to the bottom of the page editor. Below the Yoast SEO plugin, there are several custom fields. One is to turn on or off the FDIC logo. Below that is Legal Footnotes. Select “Add Footnote” and a Footnote widget will appear. Enter the number and Footnote in the appropriate fields. You can add multiple Footnotes as you see fit.
In your WP left sidebar, locate the section called “Alerts.” It will generate a list of all the Alerts currently created (not all of which are active) for your site. Locate the alert you would like to update using the Search bar. Or, you can create a new Alert from scratch by selecting “Add New”.
Alerts contain a Title and three custom fields (Status, Content, and Location).
- Status: Allows you to active or deactivate an alert, set custom cookie conditions, and display types
- Content: Allows you to enter the body copy of each alert and select an icon to appear next to the announcement.
- Location: Allows you to select the specific page (or pages) the alert will appear on, the content type, or to set the alert as a Global (site-wide) alert.
Once you have made the changes, select “Publish” or “Update” on the right sidebar.
Table content is managed in the TablePress plugin. To create or modify an existing table, navigate to TablePress in your left sidebar of the WP dashboard.
- To create a new Table:
- Select “Add new”
- Name your table and provide a brief description (optional), as well as the number of rows and columns the table will need (Note: you can add more later when you edit the table, if needed).
- Then select “Add Table.”
- You will be brought into the table editor where the table will be created along with a shortcode to share on the page where the table should appear.
- From here, you can enter your content into the cells of the table and make adjustments as you like.
- Once you’ve made the changes, select “Save Changes” to apply the edits.
- To add the table to a page, copy the shortcode and add it into any WYSIWYG content field of the page in question. A basic block is often the best block to use when adding a table to a page. Save the page, and preview it to see the table.
- To edit an existing table:
- Locate the table by name using the search bar.
- Select the table by clicking on the name, or selecting “edit” under the name of the table.
- You will be brought into the Table editor, where you can change values in the table or make other adjustments.
- Select the row or column you would like to edit.
- Adjust the content directly in the cell you would like to edit. You can also include a shortcode for rates post types in the cell.
- Under Table Manipulation you can make the following changes to the cell/row/column you have highlighted:
- Add a link to a field
- Insert an image into a field
- Merge, duplicate, or move rows or columns
- Add in more rows or columns
- Hide or show rows or columns
- Under “Table Options,” you can:
- Choose a header column or row
- Choose how the table will appear (alternating colors, name printed on table, etc)
- Under “Table Features for Site Visitors” you can set parameters for how visitors view, sort, or filter the table.
- Once you’ve made the necessary changes, select “Save Changes” to apply the updates.
