You Inspire Us!

On July 15, Byline was honored to join with Westmont and DuPage County law enforcement, local business leaders and community members in supporting the 1st Annual EJ Mazzei Fight for Life Foundation Golf Tournament Benefitting Mental Health and Suicide Awareness and Prevention.

The Tournament, which was held at the Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in Lemont, was a day out to celebrate the life of Ermanno “E.J.” Mazzei and raise awareness about and funds for suicide awareness. Participants took part in foursome tournaments with sponsored holes (Byline was honored to be a hole sponsor on the day), a silent auction with raffles, and dinner.

The event was educational as well as bittersweet, with speakers including James Mendrick, DuPage County Sheriff, and representatives from suicide prevention organizations speaking at the dinner ceremony to mark the occasion. All profits from the day’s activities went towards suicide awareness.

A huge number of organizations (including cross-town rivals the Chicago Cubs and the White Sox) came together to support the occasion, underscoring its importance. At Byline, we understand the desire to recognize milestones for our communities and their members—both happy and sad.

Byline has been a proud part of Chicagoland for over 100 years, and we take our responsibility to our neighborhoods very seriously. It’s an honor to be a trusted bank where we live and work, and we are proud to have the opportunity to give back to the people who give so much of themselves to keep each of our diverse communities strong and vibrant. It’s a special and important thing to be a part of events like this one, and we recognize the importance of doing so. We were honored to be able to do our bit to help the Foundation’s mission and—seeing the love on the links emanating from participants—we were reminded that it’s true: we really love this town.
