You Inspire Us!

On July 13 and 14, Libertyville branch Byliners were proud to join with local business leaders (and dog lovers from around Chicagoland and far, far beyond: some even made the trek from as far as Alaska) in supporting the 11th Annual Dog Days of Summer as a featured sponsor once again.

This beloved local event, which is presented by the Village of Libertyville and the Knights of Columbus Council 3674 Libertyville, is a fun (and effective!) way to raise much-needed donations, both for local pet shelters as well as for other suburban Lake County organizations who help those in need.

The yearly Dog Days event is chock-full of entertainment for animal lovers of all ages, as well as dog trainers ready to show what their partner canines could do when put through their paces. This year, events over the two days included the famed DockDogs Aquatic Jumping Contest, a K-9 Demonstration, Pet Costume Parade, Pampered Pupz Dunk Tank—which is one way to get ‘em clean!—and much more.

As well as all the fun and games, there were useful demonstrations, including how to de-skunk your dog and DogStyle Pet Training Demos. And on Sunday, there was even a Pet Blessing in Cook Park, where all were welcome to attend with their beloved furry family members.

The Dog Days of Summer is a great example of doing good while having a great time. Beneficiaries of the event’s proceeds—including those from the two-day raffle—included local food pantries, the Lake County Youth Advocacy Center, the Lake County Center for Independent living, and more animal-centric charities like Placing Paws and Midwest Rescue, which place animals in need with loving homes.

Byline was honored to take part in this fun-filled weekend again this year: we value our commitment to community traditions and charitable incentives just like this one. Byline has been a proud part of Chicagoland for over 100 years, and we take our responsibility to our neighborhoods very seriously. It’s an honor to be a trusted bank where we live and work, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to give back to the people (and pets!) who keep each of our diverse communities strong and vibrant. We’re just where we want to be.
